In my last newsletter, I mentioned that I may have an interesting week ahead. I booked an impromptu trip to Goa, one of India's most popular tourist destinations.

I had never been there before and was excited to soak up some sun, enjoy the waves, and get some work done by the pool. I looked forward to a proper staycation, and Goa did not disappoint. 🏖️

The best part of the trip was staying with my friend from school. We have been friends for almost a decade now, and it was amazing to spend some quality time with him. We talked about life, goals, ambitions, relationships, music, and everything in between while exploring his favourite places.

I learned so much from him; it reminded me of the importance of staying connected with the people who matter most to you. 🤗

Articles

I am experimenting with my writing style in a way that I am documenting my learnings instead of a generic article.

I have some articles in the pipeline that are related to visionOS, and here's one about my journey of working with 3D models:

Exploring visionOS: Starting with Model3D
Learn to display 3D models in visionOS apps using RealityKit’s Model3D, a journey through integrating a Fender Stratocaster model with seamless loading and custom placeholders.

While I mostly focused on bringing the existing iOS app to the spatial world, I started working with spaces this week:

I have no idea what to do with the fully immersive styles in the app, but it was fun learning about it nonetheless.

From the internet, I found this an interesting read, Exploring Spatial Computing, an in-depth experience of someone who bought the device:

Vision Pro - Exploring Spatial Computing
My thoughts on using Vision Pro to get some real work done, exploring what Spatial Computing means and how it can be useful.

A shoutout to RevenueCat for sponsoring the website and this newsletter! I have been an unofficial advocate since 2020, using it for personal and client apps.

Their latest feature, Paywalls, helps you add paywalls in one line of code. I already used it at work, making it much quicker to iterate, edit, remotely configure and test your app's paywalls!

Quotes of the Week

I randomly saw this thumbnail of a YouTube video where someone recommended a book, and for some reason, I bought the book without even watching the video.

It was one of the best decisions I have made in 2024.

The book is The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer. I know, I know, the title sounds a bit out there, but trust me, it is worth a read.

The first two chapters alone made me confront some truths I have been avoiding for a long time. It was uncomfortable, to say the least, but my eyes were opened. It was reassuring to know that whatever thoughts the voice in my head has, others experience them, too.

One quote from the book that stood out to me is:

Reality is just too real for most of us, so we temper it with the mind.

It is so easy to get lost in our thoughts and emotions that we forget to experience reality as it is. We filter our experiences through our biases and preconceptions, and in doing so, we miss out on the fullness of life. 🥺

Conclusion

I have another interesting week ahead, and while I wanted to refrain from flying much this year, this month itself would end up with seven flights. 🫠
